These guys were down from Missouri, for a bowling tournament in Baton Rouge, and decided to sneak down and get in a day of fishing in Shell Beach before they headed back north. They were a father sons team made up of Mark, his son Ryan, and Russ with his son Westley.

They were a really fun bunch to fish with. No of them had much salty fishing experience and the boys were pretty new to fishing in general. Turned out they were casting like pro's and hauling in monsters before the day was out.

We fished 3 days ago just when the wind was beggining to slow down. Just enough let the water begin to settle down but still stirred up to where we needed some form of shelter. We targeted the pockets off the Mr.GO fishing banklines and points. Made for an excellent day with a mixed bag of trout and redfish of all sizes. We ended with 50+ trout, 12 or so reds with their limit of 4 bull jr.s, 1 drum, 1 sheephead, and 1 flounder. Released the biggest monsters to fight another day. Banner day, great crew.
