Phil with a beauty of a marsh trout.

Larry with a "goodern!"

Mike's purdy flatfish!

Well with the cold front moving in all the fish were getting anxious to feed and all the fishermen anxious to feed um. Mike, Larry, and Phil joined me today nice and early for just that. I got in the boat and filled the live well from the canal to notice it looked like Breton Sound water in ma shrimp tank. Hmmmm good sign... It was the calm before the front for nice and smooth on the way out from the dock. First stop, nadda. Uh oh... Second stop WHACK big 18' trout. Yeah thats right, it was on for couple hours straight. Not crazy furious bite but doubles and triples did ensue in little flurries. Trout's bellies were packed with bait as they fattened up before this front. We caught um mainly on live shrimp under corks, but also on DOA, plastic cacahoe, and few on a mirror lure. Had 95 THICK fish in the boat around 10am when the front hit. We hunkered down for a bit, then switched gears and went after flounder. Ended up with 5 pretty quickly before we decided the wind was never gunna die down and packed it in.
