Hit the water yesterday with 25MPH NNW winds. Had Jerry, his son Nick, and crew composed of Keith, John, and 'Z'. Jerry was head smack talk, Nick was lead decky, Keith was incharge of keeping beer cold, John was their wealth of fishing wisdom, and 'Z' was the wild card, chief role on their trips was backing the boat down.

We wanted to get them out after big trout but wind had other plans so we started the morning on the short rocks. Proceeded to a couple other spots out on the mouth of MRGO with just scattered small trout to show for it. So mid morning I asked the boys if they wanted Redfish and it was easy for all the agree hearing some drag. We made a big move to Lake Fortuna and got right on a smokin' redfish bite. Had multiple doubles and the guys limited on a couple beautiful boxes of 23-26' with a few nice 28-30' inch bulls mixed in. Also got a bonus of two purdy young drum and a beautiful flounder. Not a bad day for gail force NW winds!
