Got out on the water today with Mike, Randy, and Pete with our hearts set on big trout. We were a little worried about the strong wind in the morning but had hopes it would lay down and let us get out. Ran out Eloi and hit a couple rigs and a point with little to show for it other then a couple chunk specs and a flounder. Bunch of rat reds and tini gaptops everywhere we went. Finally it slacked up enough and we decided to give it a go. It was rough and tide made it rougher but we slowly made our way out. Roled up to the fishing hole and started with corks. No action then dropped down to tight line with a small split shot and started the smoke the big trout. Croakers were the star for a while but eventually when it started to get calm we switched back to live shrimp under a poppin' cork. Everyone caught one of the true Breton beasts and we had a solid box of solid fish then a storm finally rolled in and ran us to the dock. Really happy to still see those big girls out there in the sound.
