Well had a tough one day before yesterday fishing with some new fishing buddies, thunderstorms ran us all over the place! So I went out and braved them again today... heh stubborn payed off.

I headed down the back levy canal and out across Lake of 2nd trees out into Fortuna. Got on an early trout bite that was just smokin'! They wanted croakers and skrimp under a cook bout as soon as it hit the water all morning. Not quite the size of out in Breton but good 1-2lb fish with a couple 3+ mixed in. Had my limit of specks fast so I played with sheepshead for a while then had to run from a storm.

Headed back into Lake Fortuna and started working the banks for reds. Had 5 nice eaten sized fish in the box in no time. Also 2 bonus flatties and a nice small drum, just to top it off. I was working a clip on gold spinner with a plastic swim bait. (thanks Mike for reminding me about those)

Then the storms got too close again and I ran. Hit one more red spot I thought would be far enough from the storm and hooked a big fish after only a couple casts. Fought it for good while worried about the storm commin' and landed it just in time to snap a pic and crank up and run again! This time to the dock.
