Was back out on the water yesterday, this time on a solo scouting mission. Other captains were making me jealous with these big trout so I passed up Eloi and headed deep. Went straight out to central and after 3 lady fish in a row I ran. Hit a couple more spots deep until I found um. But then it was on! Big trout commin' in every cast on either live shrimp or croakers 4ft under a cork. No poppin' just let it drift, WHACK. Lost one bull red, but boxed my 25 silver beauties 2-5lb.

Turned the bow back towards the MRGO rocks and got stopped by a storm. Spent the time waiting on some furious action from gafftop catfish. Really fun fighting fish, which I kept to feed to people here in New Orleans with a free catfish poboy thing I got planned.

Once I could not shut the box, I headed towards Campos but could not help myself and cast a couple pockets in 1/2 moon bay and went 2 out of 3 on reds which had to fit in the livewell.

Action is slammin' Shell Beach way. Get out there with some live shrimp around Eloi and Breton sound and you can't go wrong.
