Have an old friend in town and he wanted to get out in the Marsh. I told him the trout bite has all but stopped but he wanted to get out of the city and soak in some marshlands. No tide, 40-45* water, and NE wind but I am always game to fish so we prepped my vessel, Glossie Mae, and headed off to Biloxi Marsh around 10am. The water temp was around 44* at Shell Beach but it read 40* at the surface at points in Biloxi! Trout were no where to be found, which I pretty much figured. I tried just to see in La Loutre between Stump and Isaacs as well as the canals just before Petes Lagoon... nada. Things quickly went from zero to hero though when we switched to reds. We found um STACKED in a dead end canal. Just cast to the banks with plastics tipped with a little bait shrimp. It was best redfish action I have gotten into all year as far as numbers. Main thing is once we caught a few they did not spook the way they do in shallow ponds in the fall. They just sat there cold, slurping up our offerings until we decided we had done enough damage. Prolly caught 30-40 reds almost back to back. So the air is cold, the water is cold, the fish are cold, we were cold, but the action was HOT!

Here is a link to a video of the action.
