Had a couple of English blokes from over the pond with me yesterday and we had a great time out there in our coastal Louisiana waters together.  Matt was coming over from England to visit Graham who has lived in Colorado for 6 years.  Had a really good time showing them our coastal water, and letting them get first hand account of the ecosystem.
We started out on the jetty rocks and it was absolutely covered in all kinds of bird life.  Which was cool to see as we motored up and fished our first spot.  Swing and a miss.  Hit a couple more spots on the rocks with similar results then decided it was flat enough to point the bow south towards some oil rigs.  Hooked up on a crusty old piece of metal in no time and the guys got some more Louisiana culture in.  Dropped baits and it was game on.  Matt was first to strike with some really nice redfish, then we hit a double on two drag peelers which turned out to be one 20lb+ redfish and a Jack.  The jack crevalle gave Graham the fight of his life on light spinning tackle but after 30-40 minutes or so he brought him along side for a netting and photo session.  I learned a little English vernacular...  For instance we someone is tired, like really exhausted we here in Louisiana might say "plum tuckered", over there he may be refered to as "Knackered" or in extreme cases "Knacked-Cream-Crackered".  Fun time with the guys I think they really did get a lot out of the whole experience.
