Yesterday was a perfect day to be at Hopedale. Beautiful weather, crystal clear water, and great tidal movement. I started out on flounders and had 10 I was proud of by 10 am. Same tactic fishing minnows in pockets off the MRGO in 1-3 of water.

Had to take a break to go find some fuel before I set off after species number 2. Found it at "Blacky's?" Thats what someone who directed me to it called it but its up in the bayou that cuts in into Lake Borgne near fort Proctor. Gased up and headed out across lake Borgne to Biloxi Marsh. Stopped where the bayou just before Bayou Grande enters the lake and started working the banks near the mouth. Immediately got on some site fishing reds action. Glassy clear water just stood on my center console and sight fish um. This is where remote controlled trolling motors are nice. Worked down the bank until I saw one then fed him a live minnow. Had five reds before I went into the marsh.

Went up into the bayou to the first big set of bends. Found trout there where a bend washed out into a little pond. I was using minnows 2 ft under a cork. Throwing right behind the washout into the pond the cork barely stopped when it hit the water. 25 trout and I was headed to BSM with limits of flounder, redfish, and trout. (and 3 crabs to stuff a flounder)

What a day to be fishing in paradise.
