Got a last minute trip from father Chip and sons Carson and Austin a few days ago. The guys were in town to go the Saints/Ravens game and snuck in a little fishing before game time. I think Chip is dadding it up right getting a pro game and a charter fishing trip in for his boys in one day. We went up top to Biloxi marsh and started out on doubles on speckled trout. Frenzied action and the boys got into it right off the bat. Carson even caught two trout on one line with one of my double rigged DOAs. Awesome start but gnats started to get to us so we moved out into a bigger bay. Trout kept hitting the boat and when we felt we had enough of them moved on to the ponds for a few redfish. First pond we hooked up. Nice big slot reds. Caught most of them on a golden spoon but Chip finished the marsh fishing off with a beauty on live shrimp under the cork. Took the guys back to the MRGO for a couple flounder. I think Austin was first o strike on a big slab flounder there. Good times on the water, can't beat a trip with dad and the kids when the fishing is good.
