Yesterday was about as good as it gets. Had a couple guys down from Colorado who used to work/live here. They wanted to come get reminded of just how lucky we are to be fishermen in Louisiana. We took it back up to Biloxi Marsh and got on a pretty good start on 30 keeper specks under birds in short order. Had to keep chasing the packs of fish around the bay so I decided to move us to some more fruitful waters. A couple of stops later we hit PAYDIRT! Shrimp popping out the water speckled trout busting on the surface! It was not long before we had our limit on ice. Doubles and triples coming in. During the frenzy Chris hooked and landed a massive bullred which was a nice bonus. I even hooked up the double rig and caught two on one line back to back to put my 25 in the boat, making a total of 75 beautiful marsh trout. Then it was on to mission redfish. Did not have to go far either. About half a mile away we got on um down a shoreline. 10 beautiful slot red fish on the larger end of the slot hit the ice. This broke Bo's curse of the redfish he had been trying to shake off on previous trips. He was catching them back to back. We then took it back towards the dock, butI could not help myself so we stopped off in some deeper water for drum and sheephead. Put a few nice ones in the boat along with some more bull redfish that we caught and released. Then one last scout on the flounder just to see if they had started up only yielded more nice specks and one cupcake flounder which we released. I think they may need one more good coldfront to make their move. Great day out of Shell Beach! The fall action is ON.
