Got to meet some people from the neighborhood and get them in on some really good fishing couple days ago.  By about 20 minutes into fishing we had already set new benchmarks for their best fishing day so it was a good one.  We hit an island first and caught 30 purdy speckled trout and Ben was feeling a little bit slow on the trout count, when WHAM, big fish on.  We had a bullred on the line.  Big guy too, on the smallest rig, one of the reels spooled with 15lb power pro braid 4lb line diameter.  Excellent fight from the fish and Ben where he almost spooled all the line off the reel in a smoking run.  But we prevailed and landed what turned out to be the big one for the day.  Next stop was a shoreline with small trout and another hookup on a beast of unknown identity.  This one the hook pulled after a short battle by Bill.  I think he was just trying not to show up his son. :D  Next stop was an oil rig on fast speckled trout action!  Nicer fish here and we hit just over 60 when the bite tapered off.  Guys still had some time so we took it to the marsh.  Worked a shoreline for a nice catch of inshore redfish to top off the 94q cooler.  Great day on the water with great folks.  Looking forward to seeing them around the neighborhood.
