Had Timo and Bennie, a couple fellers from Germany, on board yesterday. They were visiting New Orleans and wanted to see what Louisiana fishing was all about. They wanted to see what fishing in general was all about, cause this was their first ever fishing trip. I took them back on the Delacroix side and got a speckled trout bite right off. They had there first fish in the boat in no time. Size of the fish was nice with about 1/2 keepers 1/2 throw backs. Great action for the guys as they figured out what this fishing stuff was all about. Ended up with 50 speckled trout, 2 redfish, 2 drum, and 2 sheephead for the day. Really great time, showing them the beauty of the marsh and all the bounty of our water. Sun was shinnin' and wind was blowing just enough to keep the gnats off. Speck bite actually turned on better as the day went on and the tide began to fall out. Best bite we got on was about 4 foot deep under a cork over an oyster reef with live or bait shrimp.

Timo's first ever fish.
