Had an old friend down to fish with me. Johnny and his wife Julia and Son Matt and his wife Kasandra made up the crew fishing with me little over a week ago. Made for an excellent fishing team as it turned out. We were hit with kinda tough conditions with a stiff 20mph east south east wind stirring everything up. We stuck the deep water of the MRGO channel and kept the corks going down the entire day. Julia was first to add a nice fish to the box with a Purdy flounder. A few trout here and there and then Matt caught a monster redfish! His biggest ever and a long drag pulling fight. Then a few more trout here and there and another monster redfish. This time Kasandra got to do the honors, reeling in a big one of her own. Then we caught a few nice smaller redfish along a bankline to add to the catch, Johnny pulled in a very nice upper sized grilling redfish off the same bank. Then we went back out into the channel to catch a few more trout. Ended up with a nice mixed box of trout and redfish. Was really fun to fish with old friends again.
