Back in acton!

Been off the water about a month, for one of the only things in life more important then fishing, your lady. Had to make the sacrifice and looks like I missed mainly a bunch of wind.

In another life I was crappie fishing every chance I could get.  Posted all my adventures after tasty slabs on a site called crappie.com.  Mr. James aka Bassaddict69 and I shared fishing reports and pictures for a long time maybe 8 years ago.  And finally we got to go fishing together!  James and his wife went fishing with me yesterday and we got lucky! The wind laid down all night and let the Breton Sound calm down and clear up. I think that's the key to trout right now if you want to catch some just plan trout only on days the wind has laid for at least 12-24 hours. And get there early. We were pulling up to our spot in Breton about the time the sun was coming up. Trout were there and started to pick up a few fish 3' under a popping cork on live shrimp. Not fast but steady. Then a lull came... thought it may be over and went to Carolina rigs. Still no dice... then shrimp and birds showed up and it was on again this time fast and furious. Number 75 hit the ice and I tell you I could not have been happier to have some trout in the box. We did some swamp tour style bayou riding back to the dock and the fish cleaning party began. Who knows maybe I brought y'all some calm weather and clean water back with me.  Great time on the water and good to finally meet an old internet friend.
