Had my old buddy Patrick down from Shreveport a few days ago to fish with me. He brought with him his lady, Her brother, his father and grandfather. Big crew on the Glossie Mae for a day of chasing salty critters. We had a challenge on our hands, having just come off a few days of 25mph east winds. Water was stirred up and it was still a little bouncy on the outside. With trout not being much of an options we went after those big bullreds I have been catching out in Breton Sound. The bite was there but is begging to taper off. It did not stop us from putting some beautiful 10-12lb redfish in the boat. We respected our elders I supposed because gramps was the first to strike with a nice Breton Sound redfish. The rest of the crew followed suit at the next couple rigs. With dad hooking up last on a big beauty, pulling drag. Guys did great getting these big fish out of the rigs on a tough day of fishing outside. Came back through the marsh and put a couple more redfish and a drum in the boat before we decided to head to the dock. Really fun day on the water with some good north Louisiana folks. Hope to get them back on a day we can work the trout over.
