Had about the toughest conditions we could have down in Shell Beach monday with 8 degree water temp drop,  tide super low and strong northwest winds.  Breezy and Drake were down from Nebraska for Jazz Fest and a little sample of Louisiana fishing and living.  They were really a pleasure to fish with.  We talked all day tried to solve the riddle of clean water and tight lines.  We got on some fish early in the channel near the dam with Breezy putting a nice speckled trout in the boat and Drake a couple white trout and sail cats.  We decided to make the trip to the marsh and see if we could find some big reds.  The bite I have been on in the marsh was from hero to zero with the new conditions.  Well it was about noon when we decided lets take this vessel back to some clean water and biting fish and thats just what we did.  Back to the rocks this time, we were graced with some big redfish on the backside of the rocks and we jumped right in on the action!  Breezy was first to strike on a MONSTER red that was a battle to land on the rocks.  All our spirits rose.  We caught lots of big hard pulling sail cats then Drake pulled on in with a big redfish following it!  We dropped a jig down and he did a 180 to inhale it about 3 feet from us in clear water.  Awesome!  Great time with the crew, and I have never had people out on the rocks before and it made for a fun and adventurous change in the usual charter routine.  They said they love visiting New Orleans, so I hope to fish with them again one day.
