Great day on the water yesterday with a father-son and grandpa-grandson team from New Orleans.  Great folks, and return customers they just want to have a good day of fishing,  not specific on what they catch.  We had good conditions in the morning despite a little set back on no live bait at the marina.  We put the bow of the Glossie Mae southward and headed on out as the sun was rising.  Made a stop before we got outside and put a few jumbo trout in the box.  Action was slow so decided to go outside to get the boys on some faster bites.  We found what we were looking far way outside on some redfish and sheephead.  Got a little bumpy so decided to get the grew back into protected waters.  As we motored in we saw a ripetide line runnig just down the rocks with some nice bait and surface action.  Bob was first in the water with a nice big shrimp under a cork up on the rocks.  Was not 30 seconds and a big hard tail and back cleared the water right behind his cork.  "Its a JACK get ready!"  Beast inhaled the shrimp and it was on.  He ran straight out into open water and proceeded to kick our butts for the next hour.  Three or four times we would get him up just out of net range just to have him peel drag again.  Bob did a great job staying focus on the rod through the long fight and after a couple close calls with the fish running under the bow we put him in the net.  High fives and shouts insued.  Was really cool to get to watch how happy the boys got when that fish hit the deck.  Great day and what a way to end it!  The guys are already talking about their next trip and I want to get them on a fast and furious summer trout bite, to balance against this big fish day.
