Another windy one out there Sunday! Had a New Orleans family on board. This was a trip donated the Campo's Marina after Isaac. It was bought for Jet's birthday, who is 12. The crew were eager to fish and so was I but wish I had better conditions to get them offshore but we made a great day out of it. Started tough with a slow bite and anchor getting stuck at the first stop in the channel. Had to cut it off and leave it after a few failed attempts at retrieval. Off to the marsh to find some fish. Well turned out being a trick as they had moved. But after a couple move we hit paydirt. Nice fish comming in the boat with Mama being the MVF for a little while. But Jet was not to be outdone and caught a big drum for the largest catch of the day. Then I mentioned we were fishing over an oyster reef and that got Dad interested. I dip netted one cluster and let Mom and Dad try some fresh as you can get them raw oysters. They squeezed a clemontine over them, then bottums up! Heh you guys can keep the raw ones, give me fried or chargrilled please. They had plenty too because we flagged down an oyster boat and got um a bag on the way in. There was another great ending to the day too I went back to my lost anchor bouy pulled on it twice, and by some miracle of science it pops out and I pulled it in for the catch of the day! Great people to fish with and they said they loved their trip and would be comming back.

This tree is miles from any other in the salt marsh. And has withstood many huricanes including Katrina. I think it should be called, The Tree of Hope.
