Had my cousin in town with his two boys and they wanted to get out on the water with me.  I saved um a day and we got out there Sunday looking for some action for the youngins.  Left the dock around 8am trying not to have the boys too tired from a full day and started searching.  I tried to stay inside by some shorelines for smaller fish but water was muddy and horse-flies were horrible.  Went ahead and made the move out into the Sound.  I figured at least I could get them on all the sharks, ladyfish, and mackerel that have been going crazy out there.  Was happy to find that big trout were also in that mix yesterday.  True drag pulling girthy mama trout were comming into the boat at a steady rate.  Every cast action!  My cousin wanted to see and taste a little bit of everything and thats exactly what we got.  We brought to the table speckled trout, redfish, sheephead, drum, spade fish, spanish mackerel, gafftop, and he even kept a big jack to see what they taste like.  I ate a steak off of it last night which was the first I have ever tasted and with some Tony's, lime, and olive oil it was very close to tender beef.  Little weird, but pretty tasty.  Kids had a blast with none stop action.  I was in a constant rotation of rigging, baiting, and casting, and they were STEADY pulling in fish.  We only fished a few hours all up and PACKED the 94q front cooler.  Really fun change from the quest for limit of trout I do everyday with clients.  A species scavenger hunt day with my old north Louisiana fishin' buddy.  Good times...

Shafer with our first species, the mighty gafftop!

Not to be outdone, brother was next to strike.

Conner showing the youngins' a real fish, after an epic fight on light tackle.

The boys with their first speckled trout, not a bad start!

Hookset, fight, whole deal brother caught this big red.

Interesting species to add to the count.  A grunt.

Nice combo boys!  Still can't believe Brother was catching those spadefish.

Shafer with a true trophy of a Breton Sound trout.

Conner when he finally got to reel one in himself.  Boys caught 90% of the fish.

PACKED 94q cooler with a taste of about all the Sound has to offer.

The father/sons team with their haul.
