Was a rough one yesterday!  Weather man continues to underestimate the winds we have had in the last week.  But the guys showed up 30 minutes early for class and it was a big help.  We snuck out into the hallowed fishing grounds before the sea began to show her teeth.  We made 2 stops before we found a great bite but when we found um they were BIG.  Girthy mama's as my buddy Cap'n Devin calls um.  I call um speckled salmon.  I'm talking bout drag pullin' speckled trout.  The guys worked um over while I tried to get some video with my new GoPro camera.  Gunna have to get it tricked out just right cause its blurry with no audio on round one.  Fish tapered off at every stop we made out there catching 6-8 at each rig or wreck on average before having to move on.  All bigguns though and the guys had just over 40 when we decided to call it a day.  Not a bad haul considering a limit of the smaller fish would have been much less tasty fish for them to take back home.  They flew in but their wives drove so they were able to bring their haul back to the house.  Had 3 nice sheephead for them to get a taste of them as well.

And speaking of eating fish!  They took me up on a great little thing we got going with a local restaurant in New Orleans.  Maurepas Foods is a new place that opened in the Bywater by owner  Michael Doyle.  I just so happened to know Mike and have taken him fishing.  We talked about it and he has begun cooking the fresh catch of the day for my charter clients after their trips.  Its an excellent way to incorporate both the love of fishing and the love of eating seafood into a trip to New Orleans.  These two things are so much a part of Louisiana culture that I am really happy to be able to help share this with travelers to our neck of the woods.  The guys sent me a message afterwards and told me just how happy they were with their meal and the folks at Maurepas.

The guys with a couple beauties!

Harvey hooked up on an alligator gar.

Da Haul.

And this is some of the magic Maurepas Foods can work on your catch!

Come down here hop in the boat with me and we'll go catch ya some dinner and hook ya up with some folks who know how to turn it into a work of art!
